What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Support Specialist position at Bright Haven Children's Learning Center?
Bright Haven is currently hiring for a full-time Program Support Specialist. Ideal candidate must be over the age of 23, possess strong customer service skills, have a clean driving record and be a self-starter with effective problem-solving skills.This position is year-round Monday through Friday 9:30 am -6:30pm.
Duties include:
*Answering and fielding phone calls
*Inventory management (including ordering supplies)
*Driving a 13-passenger van for our School-Age Program during the school year only (pick up students for after-school)
*Greeting families and visitors in the lobby during the afternoons
*Providing break/lunch relief in the classrooms when necessary
*Assisting with the coordination and planning of special events
*Being a "runner" for staff (i.e. grabbing an ice pack, checking student temps, grabbing extra supplies)
*Closing the center
*Above everything else, the ability to keep our students safe through following established procedures
Pay starts at $14 per hour. If someone excels at the position, they will receive a pay increase. There will be 2-4 weeks of training provided before assuming full driving & closing responsibilities.
People working in a licensed childcare center automatically qualify for vouchers meaning their children attend at no cost. All center closing dates are paid and 40 hours of sick leave are granted after 90 days , vacation is earned after one year. Basically, after 90 days of employment you get approximately four weeks of paid time off a year (and even more after 3 years of employment).
You won't be doing a lot of sitting still, so someone that enjoys moving around would thrive in this position.
