Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support and care to individuals with disabilities or special needs
- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Implement behavior management techniques to promote positive behaviors and minimize challenging behaviors
- Administer medications according to prescribed instructions
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals
- Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding if necessary
- Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided
Experience:
- Previous experience in direct support or a related field is preferred
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and strategies
- Knowledge of dementia care principles and techniques
- Experience with medication administration and adherence to medication schedules
- Understanding of home care or nursing home environments
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide compassionate patient care
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
