- A high school diploma or equivalent, with 18 years of age being the minimum requirement
- Completion of 12 ECE units, including Child Development, Child Family Community, and two curriculum courses (Infant/Toddler class required for Infant or Toddler positions)
- Desirable qualifications include 1 year of experience teaching in childcare, daycare, or preschool settings, and a CDA, Associate, or bachelor's degree in early education or a related field
- Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP) for children is a necessity
