Responsibilities
- Evaluate existing DNS design and provide recommendations for improvements to ensure highest level of resiliency and security
- Provide DNS expertise as required to resolve DNS related incidents
- Effectively communicate and resolve technical challenges within a large, diverse, and dispersed team environment
- Research, test and implement new solution architectures for securing applications
- Develop automation and support embedded API calls for external system integration into ticketing platform (Service Now)
- Manage DNS based redirects as required by the business
- Manage domain registration transfers and purchasing
- Work closely with Information Security team on security enhancements
- Manage split brain DNS and optimize change workflow
- Assist with management and maintenance of Microsoft Exchange in a hybrid on prem\cloud environment
- Troubleshooting \ resolution of Exchange issues raised through escalation
- Assisting in engineering mail connectivity solutions for application support
- Setting up mailboxes, mailbox restorations, eDiscovery requests
- Experience implementing Exchange related security best practice
- Manage Mimecast edge gateway email security platform
- Exchange disaster recovery setup, configuration, and administration including documentation
- Ability to manage acquisition related messaging integration and co-existence activities
- Implementing internal / external DNS changes and maintaining security best practice (Cloudflare)
- Review and document processes related to DNS and Exchange services
- Support of Exchange related services in Microsoft Purview and Defender
- Management of distribution group automation solutions
- Providing guidance to other team members on proper policy and procedure according to best practice
- General knowledge of various other IT practices including networking, servers, and voice.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field)
- Sound understanding of Microsoft Exchange in a hybrid enterprise environment
- 5 years experience managing an enterprise Exchange environment
- 5 years experience managing external DNS and Microsoft DNS in an enterprise
- Ability and willingness to work in a 24*7*365 environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to lead when required and provide guidance on project engagements
- Enterprise Exchange system engineering experience (Exchange 2019 / Exchange Online)
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Scripting experience: Powershell, Python, RESTful API
- Experience using a helpdesk or IT incident management software (Service Now)
- Excellent knowledge of DNS, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory
- Customer focused on timely issue resolution in a team oriented environment
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong critical thinking / problem-solving, and the ability to debug complex-cross systems problems, and document root cause including remediation.
- Experience in change and incident management
- Experience with testing and deployment of automation tools
- General knowledge of software development practices
- Understanding of IP networking and network architecture
- Experience in Microsoft Active Directory DNS and Sites and Services
- Experience managing cloud based DNS: Cloudflare and Route 53
- Scripting and automation based on Cloudflare API
- Knowledge of HTTP, TLS, WAF and CDN standards and technology
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite of products and links to Exchange Online
- Working knowledge of MDM solutions (Intune)
