Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Teacher to join our educational team. This role involves creating engaging lesson plans, delivering instruction, and assessing student progress in accordance with curriculum standards. The High School Teacher will play a crucial role in shaping the educational experiences of our students.
Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Educate students in various subjects, including Algebra, while integrating innovative teaching methods such as Montessori principles where applicable.
- Conduct assessments and standardized testing to evaluate student understanding and progress.
- Provide constructive feedback on assignments, ensuring adherence to standards such as the Chicago Manual Style for written work.
- Engage in public speaking during classroom presentations, parent-teacher conferences, and school events to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Collaborate with fellow educators in curriculum development to enhance instructional strategies and improve student outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance while providing regular updates to parents and guardians.
- Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and promotes social-emotional learning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; teaching certification preferred.
- Experience working with high school students in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in lesson planning, proofreading, public speaking, and curriculum development.
- Familiarity with Montessori teaching methods is a plus.
- Proficient knowledge of Algebra concepts and ability to teach them effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on clarity and engagement.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods based on individual student needs and learning styles.
