Are you passionate about education and making a difference in the lives of students in underserved communities? Bright Minds, Inc. DBA Huntington Learning Center is seeking dedicated and motivated individuals to join our High-Impact Accelerated Reading Tutoring Program, aimed at helping disadvantaged K-12 students improve their literacy skills and academic confidence.

About the Program

Bright Minds, Inc. is a Huntington Learning Center provider. Huntington Learning Center is the oldest tutoring provider within the United States, with over 40 years of proven educational results! We are a Black Veteran owned location, with outreach programs throughout the District. Our High-Impact Reading Tutoring Program is focused on providing customized, small-group instruction to K-12 students in Northeast Washington, D.C. This program is designed to help students strengthen their reading, reading comprehension, and literacy skills.

Position Details

  • Role : High-Impact Reading Tutor
  • Schedule : 2-3 days per week, 2 hours per day (3 : 30 PM - 5 : 30 PM)
  • Location : Northeast, Washington, D.C.
  • Compensation : $30 / hour
  • Start Date :
  • As soon as possible (pending background clearance)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality reading and literacy instruction tailored to the needs of small groups of students.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
  • Track and report student progress to ensure measurable improvement.
  • Collaborate with program coordinators to meet student goals and address individual challenges.
  • Commit to making a meaningful impact on students' academic success and personal growth.
  • Qualifications

    Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of college coursework required (students currently pursuing degrees are welcome to apply).
  • Special Education educators preferred!
  • Skills and Experience :
  • A genuine passion for helping students and serving the community.
  • Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with students, especially in reading or literacy education, is a plus.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with backgrounds in special education.
  • Additional Requirements :
  • Must pass a background clearance (to be facilitated by Huntington Learning Center).
