Functional Consultant – Point of Sale Applications
Location: Raleigh, NC – Hybrid up to 25% Travel
Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000 Excellent Benefits PTO
Are you an expert at transforming customer needs into actionable, functional solutions? We are searching for an experienced Functional Consultant to play a crucial role in shaping the future of Point of Sale systems, ensuring our client’s customers receive top-tier, customized solutions that drive their business success.
In this role, you will act as the customer advocate, guiding the software delivery team by translating customer requirements into clear user stories and functional processes. You will also help lead Discovery workshops and functional training sessions, ensuring a deep understanding of customer needs. Previous experience driving presales efforts by preparing impactful demos, presentations, and POC executions is needed.
The Functional Consultant will work directly with customers to define and document user stories, acceptance criteria, and minimum viable products (MVPs), as well as manage system customizations and integrations while ensuring smooth communication between customers, development, and QA teams.
Requirements for the Functional Consultant - Point of Sale Application:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Experience in retail processes, POS/Backoffice, and ERP solutions.
- Strong understanding of technical concepts (SQL, XML, Linux, etc.) and experience with system integrations.
- Familiarity with SAP, Oracle, or JDE ERP products is a plus.
- Experience overseeing end-to-end solution delivery, from prioritizing work for sprints to validating the final product before handover.
- Background supporting customers throughout the Go-Live process, ensuring a seamless transition and providing training for Super Users.
- Excellent communication skills to act as the bridge between customers and development teams.
