Job Summary:
As the HR Manager you are responsible for overseeing all HR activities. This role involves managing recruitment, employee relations, compliance with employment laws, and staff development. The HR Manager works to ensure that the organization attracts, retains, and develops a skilled and motivated workforce to deliver high-quality home health care services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment and Staffing:
o Manage the recruitment process (the Recruiter), including job postings, interviewing, and hiring for clinical and non-clinical positions.
o Jointly develop and implement strategies with Operations to attract and retain qualified candidates.
2. Employee Relations:
o Address employee concerns and grievances in a timely and effective manner.
o Promote a positive work environment and maintain employee satisfaction.
3. Compliance and Policy Management:
o Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
o Develop and update HR policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and best practices.
4. Training and Development:
o Oversee employee training and development programs which are implemented by department heads to enhance skills and performance.
o Coordinate onboarding and orientation programs for new hires.
5. Performance Management:
o Implement performance management systems to assess and improve employee performance.
o Provide guidance to managers on performance issues and disciplinary actions.
6. Compensation and Benefits:
o Manage compensation and benefits programs, including salary reviews and benefits enrollment.
o Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure that compensation practices are competitive and aligned with industry standards.
Oversee payroll
7. HR Administration:
o Maintain accurate employee records and manage HR documentation.
o Oversee payroll administration and ensure accuracy in compensation.
o Maintain current credentials for all healthcare staff per state requirements
8. Health and Safety:
o Ensure that workplace health and safety standards are met and address any related issues.
o Promote wellness programs and initiatives to support employee well-being.
9. Team Management
o Provide training and development opportunities to ensure staff competency and performance.
o Supervise and manage the full HR team, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
o Conduct regular team meetings to review performance, address challenges, and ensure that team goals are met.
o Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback and development opportunities
10. Collaboration:
o Work closely with senior management to align HR strategies with organizational goals.
o Provide HR support and guidance to managers and staff across the organization.
Qualifications:
- 2 years’ experience in the HR field, HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is preferred.
- Proven experience in HR management, preferably in a home health care or healthcare setting.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in HR software (i.e. ADP, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Environment:
- Remote and office-based with some travel as needed. High-paced office environment; continuous phone use/ringing; talking; various noise levels; interactions with employees and clients; sitting and standing for long periods of time; bending and stooping required; lifting up to 50 lbs.
- May require occasional evening or weekend work.
