TEACHER ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION
Bright Start Learning Center Preschool is seeking qualified candidates for Early Education Teacher Assistants. Our hours of operation are 7 : 30 am - 6 : 00 pm. These are permanent positions as we try to expand our team of top-notch early childhood educators. If you are looking for a great team and a supportive working environment, this is the place for you!

Duties
TA JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
Interact with children
Prepare breakfast, lunch, and snacks while teaching dining skills and manners
Teach children age-appropriate cognitive skills
Help children get dressed, change diapers when needed, and assist in potty training
Assist in evaluating children’s social development and physical well-being
Assist lead teacher in developing daycare curriculums
Assist in designing and imparting lessons catering to each student’s abilities
Provide constant supervision of children
Encourage children to take part in class and recreational activities
Model communication skills during all activities
Perform research activities to develop educational materials to aid classroom instruction
Assist older children with family-style meals and use the facilities
Assess the physical and emotional comfort of the children by providing them with a safe environment
Organize entertainment classes such as fine arts, music, and dance lessons and encourage students to participate
Assist in inventorying classroom supplies and educational equipment
Maintain a clean environment, toys, and educational equipment
Handle emergencies by employing knowledge of First Aid and CPR
Adhere to the requirements and timelines expressed by the Lead Teacher
Communicate children’s status daily to parents

Requirements
Must be at least 18 years old
Must have at least 1 year of job experience with children (Preferred but not required.)
Must have a high school diploma, equivalent high school diploma or higher
Must exhibit good communication skills through speaking, listening comprehension, and writing
Must be able to perform all physical aspects of the position, including frequently moving around, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.
Must be Adult and child CPR or CPR / PR, First Aid certified or able to become certified
Must have basic computer skills to access emails, utilize the internet, and compose Word documents
