What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teacher position at Bright Start Preschool?
Bright Start Preschool is looking for a childcare teacher experienced in working with children ages 2.9 to 5 years old. You'll lead developmentally-appropriate activities that encourage healthy physical, social, and emotional development for students.
School Hours of Operation 7:00-5:00
Flexibility to alternate start/end times available 7:00-3:00, 8:30-3:30, 9:30-5:00, etc.
Responsibilities:
· Assist Director in creating age-appropriate lessons
· Foster a classroom environment of safety and respect
· Perform daily cleaning routines to keep facilities sanitary and safe
· Prepare and serve snacks and meals throughout the day
· Assist children with daily life activities (diapering/restroom use, dressing)
· Engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development
· Assist the Director in implementing curriculum
· Assistant other teachers, substitutes and volunteers in the classroom ensuring daily responsibilities are carried out
· Plan activities that are developmentally appropriate for young children, and follow the MA Early Learning standards and guidelines
· Conduct child assessments and facilitate parent-teacher conferences
· Keep parents and families updated on their students’ daily activities and progress (Bright Start Preschool uses Brightwheel - the early childhood education App that allows information, updates, and pictures/videos to be sent through classroom iPads)
Requirements:
· High school diploma/GED and meet one of the following requirements:
A. Have successfully completed three credits in category Child Growth and Development and have nine months of work experience or one practicum
B. Have a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential
C. have graduated from a two-year high school vocational program in early childhood education, approved by the MA Department for both the education and experience requirements and have been evaluated and recommended by the program instructor.
· 1 years of experience working in Child Development or a related field
· Ability to work creatively and flexibly
· Submit to the MA Dept. of EEC’s required Background Record Check (BRC)

Preferred Qualifications:
· CPR and First Aid Certification
· Experience working in a play-based environment
· EEC Certification
