How BrightBee Works: You’ll be an essential part of our dynamic workforce as an independent contractor, ready to respond and commute to on-site work opportunities at nearby K-12 schools and nonprofits via the BrightBee app. You’ll be able to pick which work assignments match your experience, preferences, and schedule and will never have to take on an assignment that you don’t feel is a fit for you.
This Opportunity: BrightBee is looking for Afterschool Program Associates to work for schools in the Charleston SC area!
- Monday to Friday approximately 2:00pm-6:00pm (varies by school calendar).
- Opportunity for longer term multi-day roles
Job Responsibilities:
- Interacts with children in a consistent positive manner both indoors and outdoors
- Demonstrates respect for children and families
- Exhibits responsible behavior with both children and parents
- Promotes the concepts of responsibility and cooperation
- Assists the Site Coordinator in providing all services and reports
- Executes planned activities as determined by the Site Coordinator
- Provides assistance in distribution of snacks, supplies, taking accurate attendance, etc.
- Assists in homework supervision
- Attends staff meetings and training sessions
- Arrives promptly and remains for the specified duration

Requirements:
- High School Diploma required
- Experience working with students or youth in an educational setting.
- Reliable transportation and ability to commute to the assigned site.
- Dependability and punctuality, as well as a genuine enthusiasm for working with students.
- Ability to work alongside and communicate effectively with staff.
- Ability to adapt to a variety of school environments and situations.
- You will need to pass a fingerprint background check and TB test, and may need to obtain other necessary testing/clearances. Rest assured, we will guide you through the process!
