- Curriculum Implementation: Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that meet the developmental needs of children and adhere to the Louisiana Birth to Five Early Learning and Development Standards.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a positive classroom atmosphere conducive to learning, including managing behaviors and fostering social-emotional development.
- Assessment and Documentation: Regularly assess and document children's progress, sharing findings with parents and adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all classroom activities comply with Bulletin 137—Louisiana Early Learning Center Licensing Regulations, including health and safety standards.
- Family Engagement: Build strong relationships with families, encouraging their involvement in the educational process and providing regular updates on their child's development.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
Qualifications
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or willingness to obtain
- Proven experience in preschool teaching and classroom management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and implement engaging curriculum
- Knowledge of child development and behavior management techniques
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including special education
- Certification in CPR and First Aid preferred
