Job Summary
Brighter Horizons has a few Direct Support Professional (DSP) House Manager positions available. If you have experience working in the industry and are looking to take the next step and make a change then Brighter Horizons is the place to work. Brighter Horizons Direct Support Professionals (DSP’s) work hands on as a caregiver to individuals with developmental disabilities to teach skills and provide supports to allow people to live as independently as possible in their homes as well as be involved in their communities the way they chose.
A House Manager is a step up from DSP- House Managers still assist individuals with a disability to lead a self-directed life and contribute to the community, assists with activities of daily living as needed, and encourages attitudes and behaviors to enhance community inclusion. House Manager' s will be responsible for all the same tasks as a DSP in addition to:
- Financial including but not limited to paying bills, budgeting, shopping
- Scheduling Appointments
- Assisting with scheduling of staff
- Training staff
- Responds to calls for evening, weekends, holidays as needed
- Managing staff
- Responsible for all day – to day operations of the/your home, including household management, and house specific protocols
- Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly and in a timely fashion per company deadlines
- You will advocate for these individuals in all facets of their life.

In-home Caregiver, Personal Caregiver, PCA, Personal Care Aide, DSP Requirements include:
- At least 18 years of age
- Able to bend, stoop, reach, twist, move and lift 50 pounds unassisted
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance
- Reliable Vehicle
- Attention to detail
- Compassion to help others
- Clear criminal history record
- HS Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum 1 continuous year of experience as a DSP or similar.
The House Manager plays a crucial role in providing direct support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities. This position involves overseeing daily operations within the home environment, ensuring the well-being and safety of residents while promoting independence and quality of life.
