What You’ll Do:
As a Senior PVD Process Development Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in both maintaining baseline physical vapor deposition (PVD) processes and developing advanced thin film processes to enhance module performance. You’ll be working closely with cross-functional engineering teams, contributing directly to the development and deployment of Caelux's core technology.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and optimize new sputtering processes to improve film quality and module performance
- Analyze process and performance data to support engineering iterations
- Maintain and refine baseline PVD recipes and implement quality control measures
- Train operators on sputtering tools and processes
- Co-develop engineering packages for new vacuum tool acquisition and deployment—including specs, vendor assessments, FAT/SAT, installation, and SOPs
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong understanding of PVD physics and thin film deposition
- Hands-on experience with sputtering (ideally reactive magnetron sputtering)
- Familiarity with metrology techniques like UV-VIS spectroscopy, SEM, profilometry, 4-point probe, and XRD
- Solid grasp of statistical analysis and design of experiments
- Experience with DC or pulsed DC PVD processes is a plus
Education & Experience Requirements:
- PhD in a relevant field OR
- MS 2 years of thin-film process development experience OR
- BS 4 years of thin-film process development experience
