JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Engineer will support the Engineering department through many functions. The Project Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to: database management, third party contracts and coordination, management of training requirements and documentation, FRA regulations, on track testing and collaboration with Herzog on day-to-day maintenance operations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Support manage the VTI, ATGMS, TGMS, and Ultrasonic Rail Testing validation on Brightline owned track.

Support with managing Track Asset, Track Inventory, and other related Track Management programs as needed.

Collaborate with third parties on ROW access agreements to insure Brightline’s trains, employees, and passengers are kept safe.

Support with managing the implementation of new technology across the rail corridor.

Support with managing contracts, submissions, budgets, billing, and other projects as needed.

Ensure compliance of FRA Regulations to include 49 CFR (213, 214, 217, 218, 220, 237 and 243) and supports track work and inspections.

Work with new and current vendors on system improvements and implementation.

Support of the Brightline Maintenance team 24-7 for emergency response.

Support other projects as assigned.

Work with the Safety & Security team and the Legal department on ROW issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar program from an accredited college or university

Minimum of five years of experience in Railroad operations, ROW management, and track or signal knowledge.

Safety-focused and diligence to continuously perform high-quality work
-
Ability to support Railroad operations on 24/7 emergency coverage
-
Able to lift, climb, push and/or bend for extended periods of time and the ability to lift objects with weights in excess of 50 pounds in a safe manner
Preferred:

213.7 Qualifications a plus, Certification in Railroad Bridge Inspections a plus

Computer skills – Microsoft office applications

Digital Asset management systems (Railroad Software Track Assets, SAP, IBM Maximo or similar product)

Enhanced PDF Experience (Bluebeam Revu or similar)
-
Knowledge of ATGMS, TGMS, VTI, and UTT systems.

Experience reviewing contracts with multiple parties
