Your Purpose
Based in and around our Miami Central Station, the General Manager, Retail Operations & Food Hall will oversee all retail operations for the DCRE as well as lead the re-opening and day-to-day operations of Central Fare to deliver exceptional guest experiences, oversee concessions and team performance, and ensure a first-class food and beverage experience that matches Brightline’s brand standards.
Your Role
- Central Fare Food Hall Management: Assists in attracting and signing new concessionaires in a curated fashion; Develops an outstanding rapport with all tenants and assists them with onboarding; Facilitates all centralized services including point of sales systems, cleaning, maintenance, commissary kitchen access, security, IT, HR etc. Develops an operating plan for the self-operated bar and events business; Collaborates between tenants and marketing team on all marketing efforts, PR and events; Develops minimum operating standards for all tenants; Coordinates with all tenants on menus, pricing, hours of operation and any other operational changes
- Retail / Tenant Relationship Management: Responsibility for overall retail operations and property management including security, parking, maintenance and cleaning; Responsible for overseeing the maintenance of common areas keeping them clean, safe, and in good condition and visually appealing. Oversee the tenant relations including ensuring inquiries and concerns of all retail tenants promptly. Investigate and report all accidents/property damage to appropriate management and authorities. Ensure that all financial obligations of each tenant are met on a timely basis in accordance with the conditions imposed by each lease, including but not limited to payment of rents, operating expense recoveries, etc. Management of the retail budget as well as Retails portion of the overall CAM budget for the DCRE
- Guest Experience: Anticipate and accommodate guest needs to exceed expectations. Uphold the highest service and quality standards for food, beverages, and overall guest satisfaction. Monitor guest feedback, including reviews and social media platforms, and take corrective actions as needed.
- Operational Excellence: Implement and maintain operating standards, policies, and procedures in line with company and local regulations. Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring operational efficiency and cost control. Manage inventory levels and enforce strict inventory controls.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, monitor P&L, and provide monthly variance reports. Approve purchases, control expenditures, and forecast staffing costs based on business needs. Ensure accurate financial reporting in collaboration with the finance team. Conduct weekly OS&E, FF&E inventories/checklists.
- People Management: Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate team members in line with Florida labor law and Brightline culture. Drive team development and ensure succession planning goals are achieved. Foster a positive, inclusive, and culturally diverse working environment. Ensure compliance with Florida wage and working hours regulations.
- Health, Safety, and Compliance: Enforce compliance with Florida health, safety, food hygiene, and sanitation regulations. Ensure all teammates adhere to Florida labor laws regarding uniform, working hours, and benefits. Address teammate grievances and conflicts in a professional manner, aligned with Florida labor regulations.
- Vendor and Partnership Management: Regularly evaluate and curate concession partners in partnership with Brightline Leadership and leasing teams. Develop strong relationships with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers. Effectively communicate with food hall vendors, management, chefs and culinary staff to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and/or other teammates. Manage and maintain guest feedback platforms: Google, Yelp, Trip Advisors, etc. Sales and marketing to include conducting informative and personalized tours of the community which result in new leases.
- Business Development and Strategy: Develop and execute strategies for private events, marketing initiatives, and corporate social responsibility activities. Ensure coordination with all parties, internal and external resources as well as retail partners for all marketing campaigns, press and social media efforts. Monitor market trends and competitor activity, identifying growth opportunities. Work closely with the PR and Marketing team to ensure brand consistency and customer engagement.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Hospitality Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in the hospitality, F&B, or entertainment industry with a proven track record in managing high-volume operations and proficiency in the local market within the F&B industry; Prior Food Hall experience a big plus.
- Strong experience in internationally recognized venues or global hospitality brands, demonstrating the ability to operate at international standards.
- Proven global experience in managing high-profile food and hospitality venues, understanding international markets, trends, and customer expectations.
- Experience working in multicultural environments and adapting to diverse customer preferences and regional market dynamics.
- Proven ability to curate exceptional guest experiences, integrating local cultural nuances with global operational excellence.
- Be commercially astute, with a track record of managing P&L, driving revenue growth, and delivering exceptional guest experiences in internationally recognized hospitality brands.
- Advanced understanding of budgeting, P&L management, and financial forecasting and working knowledge of profitability analysis and cost control.
- Knowledge of Florida labor laws and health and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in Windows MS Office, POS systems, and back-office reporting tools.
- Familiarity with global trends in food and beverages, culturally driven.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities with experience leading diverse teams and fostering an inclusive and collaborative workplace.
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage high-pressure, fast-paced environments and multiple priorities.
- Ability to effectively engage with global teams, stakeholders, and vendors.
- Bring innovative ideas to the table, drawing from international exposure to elevate guest experience and ensure Brightline Food Hall Miami Central remains a leader in the global hospitality industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fluency in English is essential. Spanish proficiency is a plus.
