After Brightline Florida completed the first passenger rail system connecting Miami and Orlando, Brightline West was formed to connect Las Vegas and Southern California through the nation’s first true high-speed, electric passenger rail system. Reaching speeds of more than 186 miles per hour, this 218-mile high-speed rail service will take passengers from Las Vegas to the Greater Los Angeles area twice as fast as the normal drive time.

SUMMARY
We are looking for an experienced Document Control Lead to join our Brightline West team. This individual will plan, organize and report the performance of the Document Control team across the end-to-end processing of Controlled Documents and Correspondence exchanged between the Principal, Vendors (Tenderers, Suppliers and Contractors). The Lead’s objective is to reinforce document management standards, undertake processing tasks and report performance of the Document Control function.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer enterprise-wide document management systems and related procedures that allow organizations to capture, store, retrieve, share, and destroy electronic records and documents.
- Participate in the development of automated workflows for document reviews.
- Provide guidance and expertise on document types, established industry best practices, and processes with a specific focus on engineering design, development, release for IFC, and construction document control, including pre-con, construction, and post-completion turnover.
- Verify the unique Document Number for each Controlled Document and Correspondence.
- Register Controlled Documents and Correspondence with ‘metadata’ in Aconex.
- Distribute Controlled Documents and Correspondence to defined recipients.
- Store Controlled Documents and Correspondence in a format and system that is accessible to all Project individuals.
REQUIRED AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- BS/BA degree or relevant experience in a related field.
- Five (4) years of experience as a Document Control specialist, preferably in a lead role.
- One (1) year of experience with Aconex.
- Seven (5) years’ experience working on large, complex construction projects.
- Certification or other similar professional recognition is preferred.
- Must have experience with enterprise document control systems.
- Must have excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.
- Can prioritize and coordinate multiple assignments and tasks across multiple contracts and work cross-functionally with personnel in key divisions.
- Experience setting up electronic workflows for document routing.
- Excellent computer skills, including advanced knowledge of MS Office.
