Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality food service to residents in an assisted living facility or hospital setting. This position involves assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring that dietary needs are met in a timely and efficient manner. The Dietary Aide will work closely with culinary staff to deliver nutritious meals that cater to the specific dietary requirements of our residents.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines.
- Ensure all food items are prepared, cooked, and served in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Help with the organization of food storage areas, ensuring proper labeling and rotation of stock.
- Clean dining areas before and after meals, ensuring a pleasant environment for residents.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to meet the dietary needs of residents, including special diets as required.
- Monitor food quality and report any issues or concerns regarding food safety or hygiene practices.
- Assist in inventory management by tracking supplies needed for meal preparation.
Experience
- Previous experience in the food industry is preferred, particularly in assisted living or hospital settings.
- Culinary skills or training are a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
- Strong time management skills to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating independence when necessary.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all aspects of food service.
