Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Portfolio Manager to join our dynamic team at Brighton Bank. As a Commercial Portfolio Manager at Brighton Bank, you will be responsible for managing a commercial loan portfolio with business, assessing their financial needs, and structuring loan solutions that align with both the clients’ objectives and the banks risk parameters. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial lending practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate complete financial scenarios. This position is designed to be a co-equal position with the CLO.


Responsibilities:

1.      Credit Analysis: Conduct comprehensive credit analysis for loan applications, including reviewing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant documents to assess the risk associated with each application. Present findings and recommendations to the credit committee, President or Senior Credit Officer of the bank.

2.      Risk Assessment and Management: Evaluate and monitor the credit risk of prospective and existing customers, considering factors such as financial stability, industry trends, and economic indicators.

3.      Financial Modeling: Develop and utilize financial models to analyze financial data, assess cash flow, and project future performance to make informed credit decisions.

4.      Collaboration: Work closely with loan officers, underwriters, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information, address inquiries, and ensure a thorough understanding of credit-related matters. Would include calling on clients/prospects with or without CLO.

5.      Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements throughout the credit evaluation process.

6.      Recommendations: Provide well-founded credit recommendations to senior management based on the analysis of financial data, industry trends, and risk assessment.

7.      Portfolio Monitoring: Monitor the ongoing credit risk of existing loans and maintain regular reviews of customer credit files to identify potential issues and opportunities for risk mitigation.

8.      Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed credit files, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all relevant documentation. Collaborate with legal and compliance departments to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

9.      Market Research: Stay informed about local economic trends, industry developments, and market conditions to make informed decisions and provide valuable insights to clients and Bank Management.


Qualifications:

1.      Bachelor’s degree or commensurate on the job training in finance, accounting, business or a related field.

2.      Proven experience in credit analysis within the banking or financial services industry.

3.      Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and risk assessment.

4.      Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices in credit analysis.

5.      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.

6.      Knowledge of commercial lending regulations and compliance requirements.

7.      Proactive and results-driven, with the ability to meet or exceed sales targets.

8.      Familiarity with financial software and lending technology.
