What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teaching Assistant/Aide Building Substitute - TCMS position at Brighton Central Schools?
Recruiting for a day-to-day building substitute to fill-in for teacher aides or teaching assistants while they are out of the classroom.
In this job as a Paraprofessional, you may be required to complete the following tasks:
- Lift, carry, pull up to 60 lbs.
- Be outdoors for up to an hour year around in potentially inclement weather
- Be on your feet and supervising consistently for up to an hour
- Be able to run and keep up with a child
- With training, operate a copier and complete classroom cutting and clerical tasks
- Speak and communicate clearly with children
- Be able to sit and get up from the floor or low seated position.
- Be part of a P.E. class and be able to support sport activities
Job Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus
EITHER: (A) One (1) year of full-time or its part-time equivalent paid or volunteer equivalent experience working in a clerical capacity;
OR,
(B) One (1) year of full-time or its part-time equivalent paid or volunteer equivalent experience working with children;
OR,
(C) Possession of a certificate of completion for a course for Child Care through an occupational school, The American Red Cross or similar agency;
OR,
(D) A combination of experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), and (C) above.
NOTE: Successful completion of one (1) year of college education beyond high school (minimum of 30 semester college credit hours) may be substituted for the one (1) year of experience.
