Lead Maintenance Mechanic

The Lead Maintenance Mechanic ensures the operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of Brighton Marine’s mechanical systems, equipment, and facilities, including veterans housing, offices, medical spaces, and corporate headquarters. This role focuses on troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and adherence to safety standards. This full-time, non-exempt position may require on-call hours, overtime, and off-hour emergency response. Reports to the Maintenance Manager and collaborates with the Property Management Team.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance & Repair:

• Monitor and maintain systems (steam, water, refrigeration, and Johnson Control System).
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair machinery and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with vendors and team members for repairs and improvements.

Vendor Management:

• Oversee vendors handling elevators, kitchen equipment, and other assigned tasks.
• Ensure vendor work meets blueprints, specifications, and standards.

Safety & Compliance:

• Conduct safety inspections and maintain compliance with regulations.
• Monitor generator fuel levels and ensure proper PPE and supplies.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and inspections.

Qualifications:

• 10 years of property maintenance experience
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and basic electrical systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals; knowledge of building codes.
• Proficiency with tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• High school diploma or GED required (technical certification preferred).
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Physical Requirements:

• Work on ladders, rooftops, confined spaces, and elevated platforms.
• Lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionally.
• Perform tasks indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
