Fabricator/Fixture Builder

Reporting to engineering management, the Fixture Builder will play a critical role in the growth of our business. Key job duties are the following:
- Build, modify, repair and collaborate with Engineering in the design of mechanical and hydraulic work holding fixtures for CNC machining by horizontal machining centers, vertical machining centers and lathes
- Interpret blueprints, CAD models and other engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accurate fixture construction
- Operate and maintain manual and CNC machining equipment to fabricate fixture components, including boring mill, Bridgeport style mill, lathes, surface grinders, Blanchard grinder
- Perform quality checks to ensure fixture build accuracy
- Collaborate with Manufacturing to identify and solve efficiency and machining issues related to work holding
- Build, modify, repair and participate in the design of leak testing fixtures
Qualifications
- Five years of experience in building work holding fixtures for CNC machining
- Thorough understanding of machining techniques and work holding principles for CNC machining
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, including GD&T
- Experience in use of manual and CNC machining equipment
- Strong mechanical skills
- Welding experience desirable
- Experience with leak testing via pressure decay and air under water is desirable
Compensation and Benefits
The estimated salary range is commensurate with a candidate’s skills and experience, generally in the $28/hour-$38/hour range. We offer a very competitive and comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, vision, paid time off, and a 401K Plan.
