Job Description
Main position objectives
The Product Manager, Compounding is responsible for the strategic planning of compounding product portfolio. This includes underwater and dry cut pelletizers. The incumbent is responsible for the product portfolio and manages the products through their product life cycle. The Product Manager, based on a deep understanding of market dynamics and competition, drives product innovation, development and optimization of products and is responsible for the product positioning strategy including cost and price targets.
Work Environment
Work in this position is predominately conducted in a temperature controlled environment within a cubical space, office, or meeting room using a computer and standard office tools. Periodic visits to the manufacturing and assembly areas in the plant are required at times. The employee may be exposed to higher temperatures and humidity while in the plant as it is not air conditioned. While in the plant the employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and elevated noise levels. Proper PPE (hearing protection, safety glasses, safety toed footwear) is required to be worn in the plant.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to interact with both internal and external customers in person, via phone, email, Teams, text, etc. Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and written, and be able to listen and comprehend. This position can be high paced therefore the employee must be able to adapt to stressful situations.
The employee is required to sit or stand for long durations of time while working on a computer. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While in the plant standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and climbing may be required.
Occasional prolonged sitting when traveling to another facility.
Position Description – Tasks, Responsibilities, Competencies
Stage Gate Process : Responsible for the definition and execution of the product development roadmap for the assigned product portfolio and its market introduction.
Define the Product positioning strategy, develop product value propositions, coordinate marketing communication plant with Marketing Team.
Develop appropriate sales tools such as presentations, case studies, animations etc. for distribution and training of sales force.
Analyze, interpret and evaluate market, competitor and customer information from diverse sources and propose adaptation or changes of strategy, organization or product specifications if needed.
Support sales force during acquisition and negotiation of projects.
Build and maintain selected customer relationships to maintain a pulse on the market and market conditions
Constantly review product portfolio and ensures fit to market demands / customer needs.
Determine and maintain Product prices and support our Service organizations in defining prices of Spare Parts
Responsible for Product Control. Analyze sales, margin, earning, costs, and other KPI’s as required to maintain portfolio health.
Define and manage implementation of Product cost optimization programs (Value Engineering). Coordinates necessary activities with other departments (R&D, Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality etc.).
Global Portfolio Management : Overseas assigned Group Product Portfolio and actively drives potential product rationalization across the different locations (including localized products).
Lifecycle Management : Defines timelines and communication for phase out of products at the end of lifecycle.
Represent its products at exhibitions, symposia and trade shows.
Evaluate and support regionalization (features, cost, local manufacturing) for emerging markets in coordination with the COE.
Job Specifications / Education
Mandatory
Product Management (stage gate or similar product management process experience)
Desirable
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Process, Chemical)
Project Management
Know How of Value Engineering and Lean Management
Professional Experience
Mandatory
5 years’ experience, ideally in the machinery industry (B2B)
Product Management (stage gate or similar product management process experience)
Sales or Business Development Experience
Skilled in use of Microsoft Office software, especially Power point, Word and Excel – 3 years
Desirable
Experience in Leading international teams
Stage Gate Process experience or similar
VOC experience
Experience in Conducting and Leading Training and Technical Sales Presentations
