Job Description
Job Summary :
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our Utility Division . This role will be responsible for supporting the planning, design, execution, and completion of utility infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities :
Project Planning & Design
Structural Design of Tubular Steel Transmission, Distribution and Substation Steel Structures using PLS-Pole software.
Use in-house material take-off software to create estimating packages.
Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and regulations to ensure compliance.
Create Engineering Design Calculation Packages
Create Drafting packages to support 3rd Party drafting service companies
Project Execution & Management
Assist in coordinating and managing project schedules, resources, and budgets.
Monitor project progress and assist in risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
Work closely with contractors, vendors, and field teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure work adheres to design standards and safety regulations.
Technical Support & Compliance
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal utility regulations.
Assist in the development and implementation of quality control measures.
Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues during project execution.
Prepare and present technical reports, status updates, and project documentation.
Collaboration & Process Improvement
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and utility stakeholders to improve project efficiency.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in the utility sector.
Qualifications & Skills :
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Experience : 1-5 years of experience in project engineering, utility infrastructure, or construction engineering.
Strong knowledge of utility systems, regulations, and industry standards.
Proficiency in PLS_Pole AutoCAD, project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project), and Excel.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT certification is a plus.
