Job Description
Quality Requirements: Must learn and follow all quality requirements in accordance with our policy standards. Responsible for the monitoring, qualification, and training of employees which also includes API and ASME, or any other applicable standards, procedures, and work instructions .
2 years receiving ASTM materials.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand/walk up to 90% of the workday; sit to perform normal office duties for up to 50% of the workday, occasional bending, squatting, ascending ladders/stairways.
Typical Functions
- Inspects incoming materials by first performing a visual inspection of materials, components, and products received from suppliers and vendors.
- Verifies accompanying documentation such as packing slips.
- Counts all incoming material to verify that the number of each product delivered matches the accompanying documentation.
- Identifies any deliveries where there are non-conformities between packing slips and number of items delivered.
- Communicates issues regarding all suppliers to relevant departments, such as purchasing, production, and quality assurance to facilitate timely decision-making and corrective actions.
- Marks all materials delivered by adhering stickers and color coding for ease of finding and using at a later time and so that no further labeling is required.
- After all materials have been color coded and labeled, the Inspector then releases them to the Warehouse.
- Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance receiving inspection processes, efficiency, and effectiveness, and contributes to overall quality improvement efforts.
- Other duties as assigned.
