Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Mechanical design for machinery, layouts, assemblies, and components, including preparing assembly, DXF's, weldments, and detailed drawings and part lists.
- Oversee the testing and analysis of prototype equipment, parts and products for the food processing industry to ensure quality and performance standards are met.
- Manage and lead a team of engineers to accomplish project goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with other departments such as electrical and software engineering.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation such as design specifications, test plans, and production procedures.
- Participate in the research and development of new technologies and equipment to improve manufacturing processes and product performance.
- Identify and resolve technical issues and challenges during the manufacturing process.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers and team members.
- Stay informed of industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering to continuously develop skills and knowledge.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards for product safety and performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
- 5-7 years’ experience in mechanical design and analysis
- Demonstrated experience in complex modeling and simulation (stress, strain, thermal, etc.)
- Proficiency in the use of SolidWorks Mechanical Design Suite.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
- Must be able to work independently or with a team, handle the stress of multiple projects, changing schedules, and short suspense tasking.
