Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician

Reports To: Quality Assurance Supervisor

General Summary:
The Quality Assurance Technician monitors and audits production processes to ensure that all products entering or leaving the plant meet internal and external quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Read and interpret product specifications to ensure the product is compliant.
· Monitor production processes and product attributes and communicate any deviation from specifications.
· Perform laboratory analysis on raw materials and finished products as per work instructions.
· Place on “hold” non-conforming product, document status and communicate this information to the production supervisors and QA Manager.
· Perform secondary evaluations on all non-conforming products, document product status and communicate results to QA Manager.
· Monitor all facility areas for Good Manufacturing Practices compliance.
· Assist in special projects (ex. shelf-life studies, customer complaints, internal audits) and ensure that accurate data is collected and recorded
· Complete reports accurately and neatly. Ensure that reports can be easily retrieved.
· Responsible for following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) as well as following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
· Quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment required, food manufacturing preferred. Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.
· Bilingual English/Spanish highly desired
· Strong attention to detail.
· Highly organized with strong time management and prioritization skills.
· Self-directed, reliable, strong initiative, and bias for action.
· Strong interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with team members.
· Must be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules.
Physical Demands:
· Food processing, warehouse, and food laboratory environment.
· The environment may be wet or dry and temperatures may range from 25°F to 110°F.
· Potential exposure to hazardous materials.
· The ability to climb ladders, bend, reach and occasionally lift of up to 40 lbs. may be required.
· Production demands may require overtime and/or evening or weekend scheduling.
