The Family Support Specialist serves as the first point of contact for families in Tazewell and Woodford Counties, and is responsible for carrying out all funding source requirements to confirm participant eligibility, identify needs of children and families, coordinate, enroll and track participation in services to improve the social and psychological functioning of children and their families, and maximize the family’s well-being and the academic functioning of children.
Candidate qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field and/or Family Specialist Gateway Level 5 Credential required.
- A year of experience working with families with children under the age of 5 required.
- Case management experience preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- Knowledgeable of community resources
- Valid driver's license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle required.
Job details:
- Compensation: Hourly: Range is between $20.19-$25.24 per hour, offers are commensurate with experience and bilingual candidates may receive additional compensation. The salary range provided represents our current estimate for this role at the time of posting and is subject to change. The final salary will be determined based on a range of factors, including but not limited to, a candidate's relevant experience, education, qualifications, skills, certifications, and alignment with organizational needs. - Benefits: Medical/dental/vision insurance, 3 weeks paid time off in the first year including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day (PTO increases with tenure); 11 paid holidays, supplemental insurance options, 401(k) with match (more benefits details here).
- Location: Hybrid (on-site/community-based/remote): Work is completed at home-based and other community based-locations in Tazewell and Woodford Counties, with the need to work from the Bloomington Office 2-3 times per week for team meetings and other program needs. Some opportunities for flexible/remote options.
- Schedule: Full-time, hourly; general business hours with some flexibility required for special projects and evening/weekend recruitment events and flexibility for home visits.
- Student Loan Forgiveness: Brightpoint is an approved agency for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).
