The Manager of Public Grants Operations collaborates with program staff to oversee all aspects of public grants operations, including research, grant writing, submittals, reporting, and consulting on compliance with grant requirements. This position requires highly accurate record keeping as well as the ability to effectively collaborate with program leaders to review new opportunities and align potential funding opportunities with organizational vision and goals. In this role, you will also coordinate the post-award grant process, including ongoing consulting and collaborating with finance, program staff, and external funders. The Manager of Public Grants Operations reports to the Director of Institutional Advancement.
Candidate qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as social work, nonprofit management, or public policy, or a writing-focused field such as journalism or liberal arts.
- Grant writing experience is required, including a history of successful grant applications and proposals.
- At least three years’ total related experience required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Demonstrated experience producing clear reports, organizational charts, and visual diagrams highly desirable.
Job details:
- Compensation: Salary Range $73k-$77k; offers are commensurate with candidate qualifications and experience; The salary range provided represents our current estimate for this role at the time of posting and is subject to change. The final salary will be determined based on a range of factors, including but not limited to, a candidate's relevant experience, education, qualifications, skills, certifications, and alignment with organizational needs. - Benefits: Medical/dental/vision insurance, 3 weeks paid time off in the first year including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day (PTO increases with tenure); 11 paid holidays, supplemental insurance options, 401(k) with match (more benefits details here).
- Location: Must be within reasonable driving distance to Chicago and available to work from home office at 200 West Monroe Street (downtown Chicago loop) 2x/week.
- Schedule: Full-time, salaried. Regular business hours.
