Position: Client Relationship Specialist
Location: Brightpoint Main Office, Fort Wayne, IN
Hours: 7:30 AM -5:30 PM M-Th, 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM F (includes some evenings and weekends)
Starting Salary Range: $40,000 to $43,000 Annually
JOB SUMMARY
The Client Relationship Specialist is responsible for building and cultivating relationships between Brightpoint Development Fund (BDF) and its clients, especially those from low- and moderate-income households. They drive the loan process and provide training to build the capacity of clients, potential clients, small businesses, and other relevant parties. Supporting the development and implementation of outreach and marketing strategies to increase the visibility and impact of Brightpoint Development Fund's lending and support services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Work with Brightpoint Development Fund clients to connect them with our offerings, through the application process, providing appropriate technical assistance (TA) and referrals as necessary.
- Provide individualized technical assistance and business support through site visits, consultations, and follow-up communication.
- Work collaboratively with clients to develop action plans and personalized training strategies to meet business goals
- Conduct business site visits for loan applicants and monitor activities of current borrowers.
- Assist clients in preparing cash flow projections and conducting financial analysis to support informed decision-making.
- Support clients through the loan application process by preparing documentation, coordinating with the underwriter, and facilitating communication.
- Support organizational governance by coordinating materials and logistics for Brightpoint Development Fund board meetings as needed.
8.Represent Brightpoint Development Fund at community events, small business gatherings, and outreach activities, including those scheduled on evenings and weekends. Participation may include tabling, presentations, or training sessions to promote BDF services.
9.Flexibility to contribute to new or evolving initiatives that align with the goals of Brightpoint Development Fund and the Community Economic Development team.
10.Perform other duties as assigned
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain all client information in an organized manner; maintain appropriate security for confidential information.
- Liaison with clients throughout the application, loan, and technical assistance process.
- Attend and positively participate at all meetings, in Brightpoint improvement processes, and professional development trainings.
- Adhere to Brightpoint personnel policies, EEO/AA requirements, fiscal procedures and all other workplace rules/guidelines.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Achieve annual business loan origination goals.
- Deliver timely and effective technical assistance to clients.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and business outcomes.
- Support marketing and outreach activities that lead to new loan or TA engagements
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree required; degree in finance, business, economics, or other related field preferred. Two (2) years experience in relevant industry preferred.
- Comfortable with digital tools and platforms, including CRM systems, cloud-based file sharing, Microsoft Office Suite, and virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom or Teams).
- Must have experience identifying, building, and maintaining client, business, and partner relationships.
- Must have developed or delivered training to small and/or large audiences.
- When driving for Brightpoint, the employee must have a valid Indiana driver's license and must maintain minimum liability limits of $100,000/$300,000 on auto insurance.
