The Early Literacy Specialist provides comprehensive, holistic, and family centered support services regarding early literacy to families with young children through home visits and group activities. These services include ongoing literacy support, education, and creation of learning materials. The Early Literacy Specialist will also be responsible for collaborating with other agencies to promote early literacy.
Candidate qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in social service, early childhood education or a closely related field required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Ability to complete Parents and Teachers curriculum training within six months of hire.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking preferred.
- Valid driver's license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle required.
Job details:
- Compensation: Range is between $16.62-$20.78 per hour, offers are commensurate with experience and bilingual candidates may receive additional compensation. The salary range provided represents our current estimate for this role at the time of posting and is subject to change. The final salary will be determined based on a range of factors, including but not limited to, a candidate's relevant experience, education, qualifications, skills, certifications, and alignment with organizational needs. - Location: Home office is at our Rockford location.
- Schedule: Full-time, hourly; general business hours with some flexibility required for accommodating client’s schedules and special projects.
