As a Parent Support Group Facilitator, you will plan and lead the weekly meetings of a Parents Care & Share group for Spanish-speaking mothers in Central Illinois and engage in other relevant group work, such as outreach, arranging for food or snacks at group meetings, or parent leadership development in the area. The Parent Support Group Facilitator also develops safe and trusting relationships with mothers, so that services build on family strengths and referrals can be provided for additional supportive services as needed. Candidate qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree in a social services or human service field preferred.
- Commitment to complete agency-sponsored group facilitator training within 60 days of hire required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish required.
- A minimum of two years of experience in facilitating groups preferred.
- Familiarity with local community resources preferred.
- Demonstrates knowledge of group dynamics preferred.
- A valid driver’s license, current auto insurance and access to a reliable vehicle may be required to execute the position’s responsibilities, depending on program assignment.
Job details:
- Compensation: Hourly Range $19-$20.78; offer is commensurate with experience. The salary range provided represents our current estimate for this role at the time of posting and is subject to change. The final salary will be determined based on a range of factors, including but not limited to, a candidate's relevant experience, education, qualifications, skills, certifications, and alignment with organizational needs. - Location: Parent Support Groups occur in community-based locations in Central Illinois, near Bloomington IL.
- Schedule: Hourly Part-time (5 hours/week); Parent Support Groups are held weekly and scheduled with both community need and the facilitator's availability in mind.
- Student Loan Forgiveness: Brightpoint is an approved agency for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).
