Job Duties
- Identifies resources in the community for quality work experience opportunities.
- Identifies resources in the community for quality internship sites conducive to interns career interest.
- Identifies resources in the community for workforce development.
- Coordinate paid internship program for over 150 youth.
- Coordinate and conduct soft skills training for all student interns.
- Works close with Specialist to identify and prepare youth for work experience opportunities.
- Works close with youth to identify work experience opportunities and maintain quality internships conducive to their career interest.
- Works close with Brightpoint Human Resources department with the hiring process, coordination and facilitation of orientations of youth interns.
- Works close with Brightpoint Payroll department in tandem with youth interns to collect timesheets, track hours and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Establishes ongoing partnerships with corporations, businesses and organizations or community agencies to strengthen student learning and community engagement within the JAG schools.
- Provides one-on-one support to youth throughout the work experience preparation process (which includes but is not limited to new hire documentation, background checks, physical & drug screens and assign work sites.)
- Provides Specialist with data monthly to be included in the JAGForce data entry system.
- Supervision of the Work Experience interns.
- Other duties assigned by the Youth Evolvement Manager or Vice President of Community Services.
- Implement Brightpoint Values at all times.
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Human Services, or Education.
- Previous experience working with high school students highly desirable.
- Previous marketing and/or sales experience is a plus and knowledge of regional community.
- Bi-lingual is a plus.
- Position requires traveling.
- When driving for Brightpoint, the employee must have a valid Indiana driver's license and must maintain minimum liability limits of $100,000/$300,000 on auto insurance.
