ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Slitter Operator receives work orders; sets up slitter, shear or other equipment; keeps abreast of material flow for scheduled orders; leads and works with Assistant Slitter Operator to prepare equipment for production. Operates equipment; loads and unloads or directs loading and unloading of coils. Supplies samples as requested. Maintains visual inspection of material during slitting, reports and records all substandard material. Responsible for packaging, weighing coils and tagging finished coils. Prepares accurate and timely paperwork. Is responsible for housekeeping in work area. May operate forklift and perform other duties as necessary.
Operation of Exit End control panel including proper coil removal, tracking, oiling, etc.; maintain proper tension adjustments, speed adjustments; prepares accurate and timely paperwork; inspection of the finished product; maintain a clean and safe working area; and operation of the coil cart. Assists in all clean ups and changeovers in the coater. May operate forklift and perform other duties as necessary. Responsibilities include the proper handling and disposal of all hazardous material including rags and solvent.
