What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal Business Development position at Brightsmith?
Brightsmith is partnered with an exciting VC-backed nuclear energy start-up, innovating traditional power plant technology to deploy nuclear power at a quicker and cheaper rate.
They are dual UK/US headquartered and are now looking for a Principal - Business Development professional to join their CCO and SVP on the early commercial team.
The Role:
- Work closely with the CCO and SVP to develop and execute commercial strategy and contracts.
- Help with Gigawatt-scale nuclear bids, projects, site acquisition, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and long-term leases.
- Build and maintain financial models, using data to drive decision-making.
- Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify key opportunities and trends.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with licensing, engineering etc.
Experience:
- 2-5 years of experience with energy projects in business development, consulting, investment banking, or a related analytical role.
- Experience originating, supporting, or managing large utility-scale energy projects, ideally in utility-scale wind or solar.
- Built and managed financial models.
- Data-analysis drive, having worked with CRMs and financial model systems.
- Natural relationship-builder and self-starter that is keen to work in a start-up environment.
- Appetite for leadership, this role has a clear progression track for management.

Salary : $150,000 - $180,000
