As a Senior Database Administrator (DBA), you’ll be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance for various applications and systems.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to design and implement efficient and scalable database structures.
- Develop and maintain database schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, and functions.
- Install, configure, and upgrade database systems.
- Perform data modeling and normalization to ensure data integrity and consistency.
- Monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks, implementing solutions to improve efficiency.
- Perform routine database backups and recovery procedures.
- Manage user access and permissions to ensure data security.
- Analyze database performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement performance tuning techniques, such as indexing, query optimization, and resource allocation.
- Troubleshoot database issues and resolve performance problems.
- Implement and maintain database security measures, including user authentication, access control, and data encryption.
- Monitor database security logs and identify potential threats.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of database structures, procedures, and security configurations.
- Document database changes and updates.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Desired: Technical certifications in the field of expertise.
- 10 years of IT work experience in Database Operations.
- Desired: Advanced knowledge of cloud architectures.
- Enterprise Infrastructure systems.
- Experience working in complex data center environments.
- Occasionally up to 20%.
