Responsibilities
- Provides special instruction to students in compliance with school-system and program requirements, state and federal regulations
- Implements an instructional, therapeutic and skill development program for differentiated learning levels
- Conducts formal and informal assessments of all students
- Plans and uses appropriate instructional strategies to include the integration of activities, materials and equipment that align with the accommodations as set in the students Individual Education Plan
- Plans and supervises assignments for staff members assisting with students
- Establishes and maintains appropriate, open lines of communication with all parties, to include but not limited to students, therapists, school district personnel, parents and co-workers
- Attends all required meetings and trainings offered by program
- Completes required documentation within timelines, including recording of grades and attendance
- Abides by and demonstrates the companys Mission, Vision, and Values, through both behavior and job performance on a day-to-day basis
- Performs other duties as assigned

Additional Job Information
The Texas Hill Country School specializes in working with individuals with Acquired Brain Injuries, Developmental Disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorders, and a host of other developmental, neurological and psychological problems. We enroll both residential and day students from ages 6-22. Individuals past the age of 22 are evaluated for placement on a case by case basis depending on their developmental level.
The Texas Hill Country School is an integrated environment that promotes the development of functional academics and advances the attainment of skills for success. The curriculum at the Texas Hill Country School is goal oriented and addresses developmental skills and educational deficiencies. Instruction is geared to each students particular needs and includes individual, small group, and classroom activities that challenge each student to reach beyond his current limitations. Emphasis is placed on the association between classroom learning and everyday life. The high ratio of devoted staff to students creates a positive support system that emboldens students to develop academic, social, and independent living skills.
