RN Registered Nurse Responsibilities

· Implement plan of care and treatment using sound judgment and critical thinking. Provide accurate, detailed, and timely documentation consistent with the plan of care and the nursing process.

· Prepare, administer, and appropriately document actions taken specific to the prescribed IV, oral, topical, subcutaneous, and intramuscular medications. Observe, reports, and record adverse reactions to medications and/or treatment to the registered nurse.

· Perform wound care and recognize the need for and institute emergency measures in a rapid and appropriate manner.

· Perform all skills, treatments, and procedures to the scope of practice as defined in the Nurse Practice Act in the state of clinical practice and adhere to the policies, procedures, and protocols of the agency.

· Treat patients, family, and staff with courtesy and respect

· Proactively updates client/patients’ family on plan of care, health changes, and concerns

RN Requirements

· Current unrestricted RN license in state for which care is being provided

o Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

· IV experience/certification

· Ability to demonstrate

· Certified CPR and negative TB skin test or chest x-ray

· Minimum one (1) year of documented experience required in a home health agency, primary care clinic or health facility, preferred.

o Possess exceptional nursing assessment skills

o Analytic/Critical thinker.

· Licensed driver with valid automobile insurance

· Reliable transportation

· Must be able to stand walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the mobility of the client. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
