What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) Weekend Live-In position at BrightStar Care of Westfield?
BrightStar Care of Westfield and Summit is in need of a caring, compassionate and experienced WEEKEND Live-in caregiver, for our male client living in Plainfield, NJ. The client is 95 years old, alert and oriented, and walks with a cane. Care for the client includes washing, dressing, making meals (sometimes the daughter does it) and keeping him safe from falling.
This is an ongoing case. You must be available every weeked from: 8:00 am Saturday to 8:00 am Monday.
An active NJ CHHA license and at least 1 year of professional caregiver experience is required.

The following is required for this position:
- Must have an active NJ CHHA license
- Must be fluent in the English language - speaking, understanding, reading and writing English
- Must be trainable to clock in and out using your cell phone
- Must have at leat 1 year of professional experience caring for the elderly
- Ability to pass a background check & drug screening
- Must provide 2 professional references
- Must be passionate about helping others and working with the elderly population

Responsibilities:
- Assist with personal care such as bathing, dressing, ambulation, and transfers
- Accompany clients to the grocery store, doctor appointments and pharmacy visits
- Assisting client with active and passive mobility work defined by the plan of care, and documenting observed changes to the Director of Nursing
Requirements:
- Valid New Jersey CHHA license in good standing
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid CPR Certificate or willing to get one
- Negative drug screen and clear background check
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English and communicate effectively
- Must be able to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the mobility of the client. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
