Job Summary:
We are in search for a reliable CNA or HHA with experience in 1:1 patient care. Someone who can provide compassion and personalized care to clients in their homes. Assist with daily living activities, monitor health conditions, and ensure client's safety and well-being. Will work under the supervision of clinical team & office staff or other healthcare professionals and may assist with light housekeeping and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care: Assist clients with daily personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Ensure clients maintain good hygiene and comfort.
- Mobility Assistance: Help clients with moving around their home, including transferring from bed to wheelchair, walking, and positioning.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and monitor for any side effects or changes in health. Report any concerns to the supervising nurse.
- Health Monitoring: Observe and report changes in client’s physical or mental health conditions, including vital signs like blood pressure and temperature.
- Household Assistance: Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for the client.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, helping them stay engaged and active in their daily lives.
- Safety: Ensure the home environment is safe for the client by identifying and addressing potential hazards. Assist with the use of any required medical equipment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of care provided, changes in the client's condition, and any incidents that occur during care.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals to coordinate care and address any concerns.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to follow care plans and instructions from healthcare professionals.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
- Compassionate and patient with the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, move, and assist clients, as well as perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation if required to travel between clients' homes. Background checks may be required.
Working Conditions:
- Work Environment: Primarily in clients' homes. May involve working alone or with family members present.
- Hours: May vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on client needs.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
