BrightStar Care of Westfield & Summit is looking for experienced, reliable and compassionate caregivers to join our team. We are immediately hiring Certified Home Health Aides (CHHA) for 8.5 hour shifts, (includes a 30 minute mandatory break), in a hospice facility located in Elizabeth, NJ and/or Scotch Plains, NJ.
You choose when you want to work (days, evenings, overnights) and select the shifts that fit YOUR schedule.
The following shifts are available on a week-by-week basis. The nurse will call you each week with a list of the open shifts for that week. You choose the shifts you want to work:
- 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
- 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm
- 11:00 pm - 7:30 am
The CHHA will be responsible for assisting at least 6 patients with their ADL's on your assigned shift. You should also be comfortable providing the specialized care needed to care for the terminally ill, always be on time, be a team player, have reliable transportation to work, and have an active NJ CHHA license.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with personal care such as bathing, dressing, ambulation, and transfers
- Accompany clients to the grocery store, doctor appointments and pharmacy visits
- Assisting client with active and passive mobility work defined by the plan of care, and documenting observed changes to the Director of Nursing
Requirements:
- Valid New Jersey CHHA License in good standing
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid CPR Certificate or willing to get one
- Negative drug screen background screening
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English and communicate effectively
- Must be able to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the mobility of the client. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
