The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing weekly payroll for multiple locations. The Payroll Specialist will oversee the processing of payroll for assigned locations, including processing timesheets and updating payroll records to ensure employees are compensated correctly and on time. Responsibilities
- Collects, verifies, records, maintains, and / or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employee’s hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
- Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
- Processes employee transactions and gathers necessary documentation for payroll changes for Corporate, BSL and BTG
- Assists with and processes payroll for corporate, BSL and BTG as needed.
- Computes wages, commissions, and deductions
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, including remittance of payroll taxes
- Processes and monitor garnishment orders
- Handles employee complaints about incorrect payments and resolves discrepancies
- Reconciles payroll to the general ledger and monthly bank statements.
- Issues, or reissues, pay cards or physical / replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
- Records and processes federal and state payroll tax deposits.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
