We are looking for a detail-oriented Automation QA Engineer with a strong background in API testing to join our fast-paced technology team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts for our RESTful and / or SOAP APIs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—developers, product managers, DevOps, and other QA engineers—to ensure our software meets the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product owners and development teams to understand business requirements and acceptance criteria for API-related features.
• Contribute to defining test strategies, including both manual and automated approaches, to effectively validate APIs.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust automation test suites for API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or similar.
• Build automated frameworks to streamline testing, reduce manual overhead, and ensure consistency.
• Integrate automated tests into Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI / CD) pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
• Execute manual and automated tests, analyze results, and identify root causes of defects.
• Track and report defects using bug-tracking tools like JIRA, ensuring defects are assigned to the correct teams and resolved in a timely manner.
• Provide clear and concise test results, metrics, and status updates to stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews of test scripts and mentor team members on best practices for test automation.
• Work closely with the development team to ensure APIs are designed for testability and reliability.
• Continuously evaluate and recommend new tools or processes to improve test coverage, reliability, and speed.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure smooth integration of automated tests into build and deployment pipelines.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, clarifying requirements and defect resolutions.
