What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dining Services Supervisor position at BRIGHTWATER SENIOR LIVING GROUP, LLC?
Supervises all aspects of restaurants and private dining experiences. Assist in special event operations to provide exceptional service to all residents, guests and coworkers by performing essential duties effectively and efficiently. Ensure that all aspects of food and beverage services are in adherence with Brightwaters policies while being fiscally responsible.
• Directly oversee front of house personnel duties, including but not limited to:
Recruiting, hiring, supervising, evaluating, counseling, and, if necessary, terminating front of house dining services employees.
Assure staff is appropriately trained.
Assure servers are in dress code and order additional shirts and aprons as necessary.
• Adheres to and enforces all company sanitation and safety procedures.
• Monitor the training of and enforce daily completion of proper cleaning standards for all equipment and service areas.
• Monitor use of and order service supplies as necessary
• Assist in monitoring compliance with health, fire and Liquor regulations regarding food and beverage preparation and service and
building maintenance in dining and kitchen facilities.
• Assists servers in bar knowledge (e.g. proper glassware, correct garnish, ingredients, etc.).
• Complete Resident Meal Attendance Log.
• Obtain complimentary and paid meal tickets from guests and record number of guest meals.
• Seat late arriving residents and guests as well as serve portion of meal missed.
• Address resident dining issues promptly (e.g., missing or change of food item, etc.).
• Ability to remain calm when confronted with an angry resident or guest.
• Capable of performing the work of all subordinates, including but not limited to:
Taking orders;
Serving food and drinks;
Clearing tables;
Read/write notes to hearing impaired guest and/or read menus to sight-impaired guests.
• Help in physical set-up, execution and break-down of social functions and events
• Maintain resident, employee, and community information in strict
confidence (with community management or other employees as necessary).
• Organize and direct worker training programs, resolve personnel problems and evaluate employee performance.
• Implement and monitor training programs for Dining Room personnel.
• Enforce standards for service staff performance and customer service.
• Assists in the training of personnel in the proper cleaning standards for all equipment.
• Continually update side work duties for all service staff and monitor on a daily basis.
• Organize and conduct routine staff meetings and training sessions.
• Hold Pre-Shift meetings regarding food, specials, service, residents guests on property.
• Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests and employees.
• Answer questions about menu items and beverages including their ingredients, preparation, accompanying items and make
recommendations.
• Inform customers of daily specials.
• Take orders from guests for food and/or beverage items.
• Enter orders and modifications into POS system quickly, in proper sequence and uses appropriate abbreviation.
• Serve Food and/or Beverages to guests; prepare and serve specialty dishes at tables as required.
• Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meal and experience and take action to correct any problems.
• Observes guests to respond to any additional needs.
• Maintain table appearance by pre-bussing, checking drink levels, removing clutter and presetting necessary utensils.
• Prepare and present checks.
• Remove dishes and glassed from table and empty them in an orderly fashion in the dishwashing area.
• Collect payments on checks by having check signed by resident or process a credit card.
• Provide continuous and timely service until the guests leaves the premises and gives them a warm farewell.
• Helps in physical set-up of dining room, social functions, events and tournaments.
• Perform daily, weekly and monthly side work duties set by F&B Manager.
• Attend scheduled training seminars and department meetings.
• Keep immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and take prompt corrective
actions where necessary or suggest alternative course of action that may be taken.
• Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve
the overall objectives of the position.
