What are the responsibilities and job description for the Test Technician (2nd Shift) position at Brightwing?
This is a hands-on role that primarily involves setting up and performing tests,
as part of either durability or safety teams. Technicians work on projects from
start to finish which involves:
- Interpreting technical specifications
- Accurately preparing and setting up test articles and fixtures/vehicles
(requires kneeling and heavy lifting)
- Evaluating the performance of test articles using measurements and sensors
Documenting detailed test procedures
- Communicating with supervisors and customers in a clear and timely manner
- Organizing and prioritizing tasks to ensure all deadlines are met
- Extended hours may be required due to test schedules
Required Qualifications
- High attention to detail
- Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs. unassisted
- Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to solve problems
independently
- Experience with basic hand and power tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- General computer skills (Microsoft Office - Outlook, Excel, Word)
Preferred Qualifications
- General understanding of automotive parts and mechanics
- Welding experience
- Hi-lo experience
- Experience with basic fabrication tools (band saw, drill press, etc.)
- General understanding of fasteners (metric/standard)
