Staff Accountant | Manufacturing | *Mostly Remote* | $65,000 to $80,000 Bonus | PTO | Health/Vision/Dental | 401k
- Must reside in the Chicago area and make occasional trips to their Gurnee office.
The Staff Accountant collaborates with the accounting team to prepare journal entries and reconcile accounts. This role is key in enhancing existing processes and supports the analysis, interpretation, and reporting of cost and inventory data. It carries diverse responsibilities and offers extensive interaction across departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in month-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial statement preparation.
- Prepare journal entries, monthly account reconciliations, and monthly financial statements.
- Assist in researching and resolving reconciliation variances within financial statements.
- Analyze and evaluate current procedures to implement best practices.
- Prepare payroll journals and reconcile payroll benefits.
- Reconcile sales tax accounts.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate pertinent information to direct supervisor.
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of documents and data in the assigned area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1 years of experience as an accountant.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
