What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Chef position at Brimstone Bakery?
As our Assistant Chef, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of gourmet sandwiches, salads, and soups. The Assistant Chef would also be responsible for assisting with catering and will work closely with our bakery team to ensure smooth kitchen operations and maintain our high standards of quality. Occasionally, you will also help with catering operations (loading and unloading of catering van, assisting with events, etc.)
Key Responsibilities:
- Help prep and cook lunch items, including sandwiches, soups, and salads, with attention to quality and presentation.
- Collaborate with our team to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Manage inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Assist with kitchen operations with the goal of increasing revenue and profit.
- Personal cleanliness and professional demeanor is required.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a chef, assistant chef or kitchen assistant or in a similar kitchen role (experience in a restaurant, café or kitchen setting is required).
- Strong culinary skills and passion for creating fresh, high-quality dishes.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen sanitation.
- Positive attitude, reliable, and maintains a professional demeanor.
- ServSafe certified or willing to earn certification prior to employment.
