The Manager of Transfusion Medicine provides management oversight of the Transfusion Medicine Services (TMS) including Blood Bank, Cell Therapy Center, Blood Donor Program, and the Transfusion Medicine Research Center within the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, which includes 7 direct reports and 33 total FTE's. They facilitate alignment of practices with regulatory requirements and assures compliance and provide management support for the section supervisors in daily operations of assigned areas. They coordinate long term planning activities from clinical and operational perspectives.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred.
- ASCP required.
- 8 years of laboratory experience including 4 years in a supervisory or lead position.
- Some Blood Donor Program and Blood Bank experience.
- Familiarity with regulatory agencies affecting area of influence.
- Seeking a supportive, hands-on, in-the-weeds candidate who will work collaboratively with the medical directors and supervisors.
- Experience with transfusion medicine IT systems is a plus.
