Job Overview:
Bring Back Life Outreach Services Inc. is seeking a passionate and dedicated Housing Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a degree in housing or a related field, along with experience in Section 8 housing programs and HUD regulations. This position will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive housing support services to eligible members, ensuring they can find and maintain stable housing.
Key Responsibilities:
· Housing Consultation:
o Provide individualized housing consultations to clients, assessing their needs and identifying suitable housing options.
o Assist clients in navigating the Section 8 application process and understanding their rights and responsibilities.
- Transition Supports:
- Offer guidance and resources to clients transitioning into new housing, including assistance with move-in processes and setting up utilities.
- Collaborate with community organizations to facilitate a smooth transition for clients.
- Sustaining Supports:
- Develop and implement strategies to help clients sustain their housing, including budgeting assistance, conflict resolution, and connecting them to community resources.
- Monitor clients’ housing situations and provide ongoing support as needed.

- Relocation Supports:
- Assist clients in relocating to new housing, including identifying available units, coordinating moving logistics, and ensuring compliance with housing regulations.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to clients during the relocation process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Housing, Social Work, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in housing counseling, with a focus on Section 8 programs and HUD regulations.
- Knowledge of housing laws, tenant rights, and local housing resources.
- Experience in providing counseling and support services to diverse populations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and community partners.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as a Housing Counselor through HUD or a related organization.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
