What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Inventory Specialist position at BRIO CLINICAL, INC?
Job Summary:
The Laboratory Inventory Specialist works in person at our office in Ontario, CA and reports to the Laboratory Accessioning Manager. The Laboratory Inventory Specialist orders, receives, and delivers items to the appropriate departments.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Participates in the continuous quality improvement process.
- Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures.
- Receives and processes supplies and special order requests.
- Records documentation in order logbooks.
- Ensures that all item product numbers and the quantity noted on packing slips match.
- Ensures that all assigned units have been inventoried and requisitions are keyed and pulled accurately in a timely manner.
- Delivers all items promptly.
- Notifies departments of discrepancies, back orders, and/or substitutions.
- Follows protocol when putting items with expiration dates away.
- Seeks out additional tasks and duties during light workload situations.
- Accommodates changes in workload within the department.
- Demonstrates flexibility in accepting changes in work assignments.
- May drive for the company when necessary to fulfill departmental needs.
- Maintains high level of customer service at laboratory and client locations.
- May assist with training, coaching, and the development of coworkers and students.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must take all assigned Human Resources trainings and classes.
- Responsible for attending all department and staff meetings.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma.
- Prior experience in a similar role preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:30pm
40 hours a week
